I've had the game since a few years after it was released, but I started designing in early 2007, a few months after discovering the editor in Empires: DMW. The first time I saw it was at my friend's house when I was in 1st grade. I thought it was the 3rd AoE at the time... To this day the only retail campaign I completed is the Greek.

I started about 5-6 years ago, when my friend introduced me to a wonderful EE campaign done by someone on EEH. When we both saw it, we were shocked by how well the map design was (which is why I stress over maps so much today ). He never finished it, but the scn was Soty's Manifest Destiny! A few years after that i went into scn design, after trying out the AOE III scn design (which wasn't nearly as good as the EE one).

How could it have been Manifest Destiny? It's not that old... Is it?

Well I know I was in middle school at the time, and it started out with a small ship that you had to sail onto the mainland and start a colony, so yes, it had to be

I began designing around the same time as Tal After reverse engineering dialog triggers from a mini-movie made by another designer, I determined this was something I could become fairly fluent in. My goal as a designer was to make scenarios that contained stories worth delving into.

My dad bought it in early 2002. SO. It's been 10 years now... I guess I started designing for myself (and actually i have been doing almost a 100% of my work for myself) in early 2003. after i had completed all the campaigns. ( i was only allowed to play 2 hours per week then - and i also played AOK) 2 hours PER WEEK? Why?

I guess I started designing for myself (and actually i have been doing almost a 100% of my work for myself) in early 2003. after i had completed all the campaigns. ( i was only allowed to play 2 hours per week then - and i also played AOK) 2 hours PER WEEK? Why? i second that! why?!? I still remember vividly the first time I saw EE. I was coming from the Student Council Office to attend an interview for the University Paper. I was early for the interview (about 10 to 20 minutes), and so the Editor-in-Chief asked me to see his new game. And there, I was instantly mesmerized. The opening movie sequence was very good, since I saw that unlike AOE, the game spans ALL of human history. That was around maybe 2003 or 2004. I acquired the game afterwards, and played all the campaigns, but did not mess around with the scen editor. Around 2008-2009, I came across with EEH, and downloaded some of the well - loved scenarios out there. It was tek's scenarios (The Liberation and The Epic in particular), that made me design as well. Soty's Manifest Destiny became a favorite map (such realistic map!), while trigger work like Intrepid's and penguini's scenarios motivated me to crash the scen editor countless of times! ;D Well, that, and the fact that playing almost all of EEH's scenarios made me knowledgeable on what has been done, and what is yet to be done. I did have a major cost --- my eyes' 20-20 vision deteriorated and I got to pay for at least half of the house's electricity cost because of too much EE playing time.

You words are humbling! I forgot about the Liberation scenarios. They were story driven, but weak in terms of trigger work. You are the modern day Intrepid, now.

I have always liked your scenarios and your story-driven style. And although I'm taking a break in EE for now (I'm trying to rush through in finishing King Arthur Wargame in PC - go check it out guys, RPG, Total War, tactical wargames rolled into one!), I still plan in pushing through with the tie-up I promised over PM, tek. And I do hope you can check and update War of Pagans, buddy.

I've played since early '04. Started designing scenarios in '09. Joined EEH in '10 I believe, and Empire Creations soon after. It was Soty who brought me here if I remember rightly.
