Thank you. Very happy to see you and the other guys are still here, and active to boot! Shield, please send me anything you need play-tested and I will see it done. Thanks for the offer, and I'm glad to see you here too! I hope the business is quite doing nicely? As to EE scenarios, I'm afraid I have stopped producing scenarios quite a while now. Work and Windows 8 prevented me. However, I just have been able to reformat my laptop to Windows 7. I'm readying my total realistic mod (since I have learned hexing EE!), although it might take some more polishing and balancing.

Are you able to play the game still? Ever since reformatting my laptop, yes. I have been able to. But there's almost a year or so of inactivity on my part in scenario design. So I guess it's time to back.

I just wonder, how doable is it to create a LOTR themed scenario? Or would it require a bunch of texturing?

I just wonder, how doable is it to create a LOTR themed scenario? Or would it require a bunch of texturing? There are a couple of scenarios already up in EEH. The pioneering ones were those of Journey to Middle Earth by wbiro and of course, our very own Soty's Middle Earth map. You could also try Battle of Five Armies by tek here. All of them very good stuff. There are alot of textures available, by the way. I have them all in my DropBox, and if you are planning to do something, just say so and all the textures will be sent to you.

Hey Shield, would you be willing to PT this for me? It is a finished product. Gladly. Kindly wait until I figure out a solution to this display problem I'm having with my EE version. Or maybe I could bring my company laptop home over the weekend. Yes. Maybe that's what I'll do to be able to PT this.

Hey Tek. I played it through. A nice scenario. Map design: I really like your map design, terrain mixing, elevations are all good as always. I especially liked that most mines were placed in rather inaccessible places so my villagers had to walk a few steps to deliver their gathered resources. This added to a more realistic feeling. However, the entire map is rather large with a lot of unused space. The red player is there. But that's all about him. You could make your scenario smaller or add some caves or holes. (I remember an article with quite impressing images of sewer systems, tunnels and the like - I cannot remember where it was, though). Also, you could add some "misty clouds" or snow and grey cliffs would be more suitable than the standard EE cliffs. Playability is nice and straightforward. There are no frustrating aspects to it. (like ever and ever spawning waves of enemies that wipe out the army you built up just minutes before.) Those orcs that come in waves are rather weak and so its more fun to defeat them rather than frustration. Replayability value is given as the scenario does not take to long either. I also liked the way you replaced the necessary cavalry with swift (and cloaked) dwarves. Those guys were essential for taking out orkish siege engines. Contrary to the instructions I never had any resource problems, especially Iron. Due to the massed waves of orcs I repelled, many bodies free for looting were available. Actually I destroyed the tower near the forage patches only after I had already fought the orcs in the Western mountains. There was one thing I personally find really annoying with any scenario. I do not like recruitment by chat message at all. You could simply allow the players to build archers by regular training. Same goes for the purchase of the ram. (By the way, the ram is not really necessary at all, as my beloved archers are pretty strong) Balance. I had to reload a couple of times because I was rather careless with my defenses and attacked trolls head on without a sufficiently large army of archers. A more careful player might find the scenario too easy - I enjoyed the difficulty,. History/Instructions: Both are sufficient. I don't dare to comment on any instructions and story while neglecting both myself

Soty; I have made the following changes
- Archers range lessened and attack lessened - Gundabad Orc unit (pikeman) attack increased - Less starting iron - New set of triggers in the form of a battle scene finale between p1, the men of ered mithrin(p6 RED) and the orcs
I do not know how to fix the cliffs at this point, nor do I know how to made composite bow available for proper training because the epoch difference between units and players epoch

If you make a trigger adding that tech to player1 it doesnt matter your epoch, it will be buildable

Really? That is good to know. Thank you In this scenario, however, I am using the chat message method as I want archers to be extra expensive

I have managed to PT quickly, and I agree on points raised by Soty. I have retaken the Iron Mines before my good old EE frozen for good, so I was forced to stop. I miss the style of Altec Tek, and it's refreshing to see you haven't lost it! Now, for the particulars: 1- Tie up the achievement received for the South Road not only to the Tower, but also to the rest of the enemy players guarding it. It's quite awkward to see the chat saying the South Road was retaken while all the enemies are all around me. 2- I think you've interchanged the population limit cap on the archers (instead of "lower than popcap", maybe you've put "over the popcap"?). I observed that you can only train archers when your popcap is over your limit. 3- I still remember how Orcs are supposed to attack, and their tactics are to swarm you up. Well, I feel that the Orc's attacks are a little bit underwhelming. To both satisfy Soty's more laid back preference as well as my total blood lust, maybe you could make the scenario difficulty variable, so when I play Hard, I want my Orcs swarming! PT up until Iron Mines, and would continue review tomorrow. A LITTLE BIT OF TRIVIA: It appears that a saved scenario using modified data files will retain those data files, regardless of you deleting the modified db folder. I forgot to move my edited db, so I was stuck with the modded one. (Know that my modded EE use gold as universal cost. I had to reload a couple of times because I can't train units!) Over and out.

Thank you for PTing, Shield!
- I changed the condition for the south road to your specifications - I've imposed a more accurate condition relative to pop cap and archers - For the HARD difficulty, I have made the Orc units more powerful
I'm doing a wee bit more, and then I will upload the updated file Also - I'm well into the second scenario. Should be a lot of fun!

PTing soon! EDIT: I have tried 3 times now, but my EE copy's penchant for freezing and crashing has really turned worse. I'm afraid I may have to reformat again, and will PT this weekend (fingers-crossed).

I like you chose Ered Mithrin, essentially meaning Grey Mountains, though there are no Dragons to deal with are there? Like Ered Luin means Blue Mountains. I'm pretty impressed, that even a LoTR setting is possible with EE. The community has done a great job over all those years since EE was released.

Just an update! I had an employee on vacation, and a benefit concert to rehearse for so I have been held up! Both of those things are over, and now I am continuing to do work on the campaign. Scenario two is half way done at least!
