Hey can any one help me please with some trig skills and map design for my scenario? It is going to consist of - - 3 rebel bases - landing force - when x number of building been buit then reb send small attacks every 5 minutes with 30 seconds warning - reinforcing after each base is destroyed

Hi there! I assume that by your question, you want the player to land and build a base, and afterwards, you want the rebels to attack him. If so, here are sample triggers: A. Rebel Attacks (Player 2 as Enemy Player) First, you need to learn spawning. Spawning can be in an area, or within the LOS of a building. For now, let's use the Area. Area > Specify your Area here (Call this SPAWN) Object > Specify your Object here (Object Specification, not Select on Map). For example, Player 2 > Family-Arquebus > 5 to 10 units > in area SPAWN. (Call this REBELS). Effect > Object > Create REBELS (Call this ATTACKERS) Effect > Media > Send Chat Message > Specify your warning here (Call this WARNING). Now, this is the "spawning", but we should still specify the Condition for the spawning to take effect. Here comes your "x number of buildings". Object > Player 1 (that's default for Human) > Class-Building > 3 to 99999 > Hitpoints 100 to 100%. (Call this BLDG). This condition will ensure that the human player would have at least 3 completed buildings before the Rebel Attacks begin. Object > Player 1 Units 1 to 9999. This object corresponds to all p1 units. (Call this All P1 Units) Effect > Object > Task-Object REBELS to All P1 Units Attack-Move. This will ensure that the rebels will attack any unit you have on their way (compared to Normal, which will just attack a certain unit after they reach it). Call this ATTACKING. The actual trigger would be like this (this is in the Triggers Section): Condition > If > (No Check) BLDG exists Effect > WARNING, delay 30, ATTACKERS, delay 31, ATTACKING. You see that the 30 seconds warning is within the trigger, so that after 30 seconds, the rebels will be created (Attackers) and after 31 seconds, they will attack (Attacking). Check the "Condition True For" and put in 300 seconds (that's 5 minutes). This is the interval for every attack. Also check the Looping. B. Reinforcements after Enemy Base is destroyed First, you must have the bases selected. That is, go to the objects section, then Select On Map. Do this for each base, and label them accordingly. Now, for your reinforcements. You could spawn them similar to the trigger we used for creating the rebels (spawning section above). Just exchange the P2 to P1, while duplicating the rest. To help you effectively, I won't type the process again, but instead, I'll make you explore it for yourself. Your Triggers Section should look like this: Condition > If (Check here) Rebel Base 1 Exists (meaning, if the rebel base is destroyed) Effect > WARNING REINFORCEMENTS (assume you let the player know there are reinforcements), delay 0, REINFORCEMENTS. Condition True for: Not Checked. Looping: Not Checked. Duplicate the above trigger for every rebel base you have. Hope this helps!

Wow thanks shieldwolf did not expect a reply so quickly and yes it helps a lot.
Got another question if you don't mind answering,
How do I have it so that my men capture buildings instead of building them e.g find an abandoned outpost. E.t.c And after capturing the outpost then the rebels begin attacking
Also does anyone have any suggestions for more objectives I will credit you

IF "P1 units" near "Outpost" THEN 'Owner Outpost P1'. It's a simple trigger. For the counterattack: IF "P1 Outpost" Exists, THEN "Rebel attackers" Attack-Move to object "P1 Outpost"

Ah right thanks tal, I thought it would be similar to that just,didn't manage to get it to work
Also is there a way if instead of 30 seconds warning before the next attack that I could type. Something in the chat and it tells me how long

I wasn't clear enough sorry shield
It doesn't matter anymore anyway I have decided to stick to 30 seconds warning
But I want to have an abandon town purely for eye candy but how do u get it so that the buildings are on fire, I tried reducing object attribute hitpoints to 1 but that only reduces health, it doesn't actually show the flames

tal seconded. have you people visited/lived here in the MidEast? Yesterday, I was walking from the office to a nearby store, and the heat is oppressive! 42 degress celsius. And my, in my native Philippines, they are experiencing El Nino which is phenomenally bad. Gotta join hands and rescue Mother Earth! Fight global warming!

thanks shieldy, its ok but i feel it is too plain as such the map design is terrible and i have a few triggers in place but i am thinking of placing some more in such as - suprise rebel attack after ******** is destroyed ( i have worked this trigger out just use spawning and task-object/area ) -some sort of supply system so you can trade resources on a 1 to 1 basis e.g 100 food and you get 100 wood, 100 gold and you get 100 iron. stone you cant trade -a rebel bombing run ( just use task-object/area again? ) if anyone else has any other ideas for triggers or objectives please help me. i will credit oh and the scen is focused around a bridge you have to defend and rebels send consistent attacks and you have to destroy rebel unit facilities to cripple them

hmmm... overall, what's the scenario all about? I mean, you could tell us the background story, so that we could help you devise optional quests and corresponding triggers to make it more fun. defending a bridge all throughout a scenario won't really be that good a scenario.

it will be starting off with rebels attacking the bridge, you have small force defending it. you have large base set up and a few citizens. how ever no more buildings or citizens can be created. you can release citizens from 2 hostage camps by killing all protecting units.# i am trying to just make the bridge an " annoyance " as such so that you have to remember to keep your defences up while preparing to attack the rebel base. the rebels have placed road blocks and tank barriers on most major flanking routes. i have left a few open so you can still use some strategy and not just brute force however i feel my map is poor. i will upload via mediafire round about the 10th so people can give me tips. it wont be the finished product. STORY LINE: in simple terms the rebels are attempting to push forward in this sector. you have control of a small force defending the bridge, you have a large base with plenty of ore deposits however you have very few citizens and cannot create anymore. objectives ----------------- 1) hold off rebel attacks on the bridge 2) Destroy all Tank factories,barracks' siege factories and airports in the rebel base Optional side quests 1) free the hostages from the hostage camps ( rewarded with the hostages as citizens and 500 of each resource after each camp is freed ) 2) There is a small town that has been abandoned, they have some tank factories there. perhaps there are some tanks still left? go check it out any more guys?
