I had an idea for a campaign based on the book "Somme Mud" set in WW1. But to do it I need to find out how to make an ammo system and allow soldiers to throw grenades through triggers. Also needing to make Allied units follow you. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. BTW, any good maps out there of the Somme battlefield I can download?

I think that there's a thread at wolf's lair sectionwhere you can download the scen which has the ammunation system in it.

Hoping to find an ammo system that contains both rounds, and clips, having a short reload between rounds, and longer reloads between clips, the ammo crate fills up clips only and when rounds are empty, will spend 1 clip to increase rounds.

i'm afraid only 1 ammo type can be used per unit (because the ammo is to be represented by a resource under that unit). however, you could set, for example, a different ammo expenditure type per unit type, for example, marine uses gold as ammo, grenade launcher uses iron. that sort of thing.
scutari is correct to say that i have already uploaded an ammunition system. however, i'd be glad to help you with the actual trigger work, if you want to.

I've downloaded the ammo scen, but I still need help with it. In my scenario, I only have 1 unit under control. Could I use the player resourses to do it. Thanks.

yes you can. but then, since you'll only use 1 unit, only 1 ammo is represented (you could only get 1 unit for the "reloading" function).
i suggest you get at least 2 units (1 for gun, the other for grenade).

yeah, I was wondering if you could make it seem like the character was throwing a grenade using triggers (visual effects and damage to units in area). I'm still trying to find a decent map of the area.
BTW, How do you make the background image maps (when you start the scenario has a map as the image behind in info).

for creating background image maps:
1. In the scenario editor, with the scenario open, press ctrl and f9 at the same time.
2.now, go back to your desktop. open your empire earth folder. there should be Bmp file with the name "EE00"
3.Open it in paint. save a new version of it in jpg form to the data/scenarios folder.(rename it as well if you want to)
4. go back to the game and select it from background image selection in the instructions section of the scenario editor

yeah, I was wondering if you could make it seem like the character was throwing a grenade using triggers (visual effects and damage to units in area). i think it can be done, but it would be trigger intensive. i think it won't be worth the trouble though. it is still better for you to have the unit changed to grenade launcher, if that's what you want. I'm still trying to find a decent map of the area. since you're doing the somme area, it's better you make it yourself, using terrain maps. OR you could use EE's somme map as guide.

Or maybe the unit could change to a trench mortar with samller range and lower fire altitude (if that can be changed)

don't really ant to hex dbobjects, It would change it for all units. Is EEv2 Grenade thrower any good (have explosions, area damge, etc)?
