Hi, newcomer here! A week or two ago I saw the game back cover. <<< Click "New Terrains and Graphics: Details like breaking waves, tank tread marks in the sand..." I installed the game again just to see those effects which I missed for some reason(even though I've played it far too much). As I expected - there are NO breaking waves and NO tank treads. I tried different sand terrains in the scenario editor with tanks running around, at MAX graphic effects. Didn't even see a tank tread effect in the editor effect panel. There is nothing! Have any of you actually seen these two effects? Are they present only for some types of video cards(maybe ATI Radeon, I don't know)? And last but not least - what's that cyber drone unit supposed to be?

Welcome to EC!
And I for one have not seen those either, but EE is a great enough game where I can just ignore those minor details :3

Thanks! Undoubtedly! Still, it puzzles me as to why they would write something that's false. And it's a pity they didn't include the water reflection effect like in the early development of the game. It would've been awesome. I'm a big water reflection fan.

I fear they promised a lot more with AoC than they actually put in the game later. Also the campaigns are buggy and the scenario editor somewhat deteriorated with the expansion. Thats's why we usually stick to EE regular.

Yes, I've read that AoC is buggy, but just like some other folks I'm sticking around with it for the extra units, terrains and space age. Although I must admit that the atmosphere, the feeling of the first game is, I don't know, somehow more Empire Earth-ish. Maybe if Stainless Steel Studios took care of the expansion, it would've felt better. Same goes for EE2. I can't stand the feeling of it. It's just NOT the EE I know. As for the 3rd installment of the game - it's a TOTAL ABOMINATION!!!! EE1 is the only Empire Earth for me. Soty, do you know what else they promised for AoC? The way I see it, maybe they did the cover with all the pictures and details of everything that should've been in the game and then cut some of it due to time/budget restriction, who knows.

AoC is quite buggy and the new units look very rushed. I know that the imperial-industrial age bombards have a small chance of having their reload time reduced to 1%, which causes rapid-fire. WW1-Modern aged gates have a very small chance of being "dysfunctional"(The gate cans till be accessed by the player but no his/her enemies, and cannot be destroyed. This may or may not be a result of player glitching, so it could be a good cheater detector ) In rare cases random/multiplayer games with the "highlands" choice selected will create parts of the map that are inaccessible without planes or pathfinding, making them strategic places to hide if you have pathfinding or bad places to start the game in :3 SAS Commando models are poorly made in the sense that they don't hold their guns properly while firing. There are probably a lot more that I haven't found yet.

I just had a thought. Don't the patches for AoC fix the bugs?

Depends what patches you are referring to. Most people don't patch AoC, though, so you may have a hard time if you play multiplayer.

I've never played patched AoC. Nor have I played EE multiplayer. Recently I read that the multiplayer servers for the game have been taken down... a few years ago. Something like that. I can't seem to find patches for AoC online. Only for EE and they're towards improving the multiplayer experience.

I know Gameranger can be used to play online. Come to think of it, I haven't really heard of AoC patches either S: I'll try looking but it could take a while. Most patches that were designed for multiplayer fixes a lot of these bugs (for the original EE at least).
