Hey all, not sure if this is the right place to put this but ah well here goes
here is a step by step on how to mod units textures fairly simply ( i hope )
1. Download EE Studio and Tga Tool from EEH. ( preferably use Soty's upload for EE Studio, the one that contains Wolfies Campaign Extactor )
2. make sure Wolfies Campaign extractor is in the same folder as DCL.exe
3. Extract data.ssa using Wolfies Campaign Extactor
4. convert your chosen sst to a tga using EE studio.
5. open your tga in Tga tool.
6. OPTIONAL: In prefs change your image editor ( default is MS Paint )
7. Click on Image then send image to editor.
8. save as .BMP, ( using default name ), edit, then resave
9. Open another copy of TGA Tool. In this copy, open up the BMP you saved. Click Create Alpha Channel, then go to Prefs and click reset editor.
10. In the other copy of TGA Tool you already had running, click Prefs and click reset editor. Click Image and open the alpha channel up in the editor. Do the same thing with the other copy of TGA Tool.
11. Copy the alpha channel picture that has a bunch of black and white shapes, and paste that over the one that is blank [white.] Save this new one and close both programs. In the TGA Tool where the BMP is open, it should now have the alpha channel. Save it as a new TGA, then convert it from a TGA to an SST with EE Studio and you're done.
If the original TGA does not have an alpha channel (is blank/white) skip steps 9-11 and immediately save it as a new TGA.
